repurposed shop windows

The 'maison bruxelloise' was a typical townhouse architectural house, with on family occupying the entire building of three or four floors.
The ground floor often was occupied by a small shop.
With the construction of large malls, 'galeries' and shopping centres these small shops closed business and at a certain point in time they were turned into apartments and used as such.
